"The 2021 Nuits Saint-Georges Clos de l'Arlot 1er Cru has an open nose, redcurrant and mulberry, touches of decayed autumn leaves and cigar smoke. The palate is medium-bodied with grainy tannins, the fruit darker than the Mont des Oiseaux plus there is a little more grip. Dorset plum and a splash of black pepper on the finish. Lovely" Vinous
"The wine bottled as Clos de l’Arlot represents the best the vineyard has to offer. The young vines and the fruit from the clonal selection vines planted in the ‘70s is bottled separately. There is a ripe plummy fruit with hints of oak spice, earth and mineral, and the aromas do not show the reduction of the other bottlings from this cellar. There is satisfying density, and balanced acidity, but the texture of the wine remains supple and finishes well." Decanter
"A pale crimson colour. A light and elegant nose, a pure pinot fruit in the old style. Arlot never has much colour nor immediate intensity, this is a wine which needs time in bottle. There is indeed more density on the palate, with slightly darker forest fruits alongside the fresh red berries, and a fine persistence. Drink from 2026-2031." Jasper Morris
