Anmeldelser
Chiara Boschis Pira E. & Figli's Barolo "Mosconi" - one of the most representative labels of the winery. Nebbiolo grapes come from the "Mosconi" vineyard, the oldest cru owned by the Pira family which is located in Monforte d'Alba. Vines have an average age of 45 years, are located at an altitude of 400 meters above sea level and are planted on a typical Helvetian soil, characterized by calcareous clayey marls with some layers of silicon. The fermentation is spontaneous with the use of indigenous yeasts only, and is done in steel tanks with the cap emerged. The wine is aged for at least two years in small, lightly toasted French oak barrels. Subsequently the wine ages for one more year in bottle before being released for sale. Chiara Boschis E. Pira & Figli's "Mosconi" Barolo has a very intense red color with evident garnet red reflections, while the nose expresses an elegant and complex bouquet of red fruits such as cherry and berries, violet and rose petals, as well as tobacco, coffee and hints of underbrush. The taste is austere and elegant, powerful and supported by evident tannins, very persistent. grandibottiglie

"With fruit from Monforte d'Alba, the E. Pira e Figli - Chiara Boschis 2019 Barolo Mosconi is the most powerful of the three wines presented here. We tasted it last. Bottled on the full August moon, the wine is impeccably balanced and bright with dark fruit, black cherry, spice and pencil shaving. The tannic structure of the wine is impressive, and you can count on Mosconi for long aging potential." Robert Parker's Wine Advocate - 98p

"The 2019 Barolo Mosconi is a bit deeper in color, with its jeweled appearance leading to floral, fresh, and spicy notes of ripe cherry, pink peppercorn, and fresh rosemary. It is medium to full-bodied, with great purity, and has ripe, sweet tannins that fill the palate alongside balanced fruit, hints of forest floor, and a bit of cedar. It is long on the palate and needs more time. Drink 2025-2045." Jeb Dunnuck - 98p
