"Mid crimson. A deliciously perfumed bouquet of grapes picked at perfect ripeness. Starts with an agreeable pure pinot then kicks on, with extra concentration at the back of the palate. Tannins nicely folded in. Harmonious." Jasper Morris 89-92p
"Note: from 40+ year old vines in Petit Pré which was once classified as Volnay villages. Here too there is enough wood present to merit pointing out framing the slightly more elegant essence of red berry fruit aromas that are nuanced by hints of newly turned earth and spice wisps. There is once again a really lovely texture to the delicious flavors that deliver excellent length on the balanced bitter pit fruit-inflected finish. Impressive.*Burghound Outstanding Top Value!*" Burghound
"The 2022 Bourgogne Pinot Noir delivers aromas of cherries, plums and sweet berries, followed by a medium-bodied, lively and fine-boned palate. The 2022 vintage was showing well during my annual barrel tasting chez Lafarge, emphasizing the charming, pretty side of the year. The team began picking on August 26, another early harvest. As usual, reds were destemmed, in some cases manually, and élevage is taking place in predominantly used barrels, with the Lafarge's habitual racking with aeration. The result is wines with a resolutely old-school style that have a good track record of evolving gracefully in the cellar." Wine Advocate
