Among the Premier Crus of Mersault, certain are considered "Grand" Premier Crus, such as "Charmes", "Genevrières" and certainly "Perrières". "Perrières" is the vineyard most often touted as the natural candidate for a possible promotion to Grand Cru. The term "Perrières" evoques rocks and quarries. This terroir is packed with limestone rocks that give wine remarkable minerality, more than all the other Premier Crus of Meursault. In fact, on this point, the wine ressembles the great wines of Puligny, the village neighboring this vineyard. Our 0.45 hectare parcel of Meursault "Les Perrières" is located in the upper part of the cru and gives dense and vertical wines. The aromas are, above all, mineral and stony but also offer generous complexity with floral notes (white flowers and hawthorne). The palate is concentrated and structured – almost firm. The tension and the persistance, which give this precise mineral character, are impressive. One often must wait five to seven years for this cru to fully express all of its possibilities. This parcel has been farmed by Domaine de Montille since 2012. Before, it was under the care of the Château de Puligny-Montrachet." de Montille
