"The 2013 Grands Liards has turned out beautifully and it really is a pity that there is so little of the wine this year. The bouquet wafts from the glass in a nascently complex blend of cherries, red currants, a touch of orange peel, cinnamon, venison and a superb base of minerality. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied, pure and rock solid at the core, with fine focus and grip, firm, but suave structure and excellent length and grip on the still very young finish. This will need a bit longer in the cellar than the Pimentiers, but it will be equally fine once it has blossomed."
